11/30 Happy Monday

Well folks (can I call you that...folks?)...it's gonna snow today. My dream of one more beautiful, warm fall day is officially done. I mean, I guess it is the last day in November and by now, we're usually 3 feet under the white stuff. So I'm thankful.

Speaking of which, I trust you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. I can't wait to see those turkey-day layouts in the gallery!!

So because I'm snoopy and I like to know things...I have some questions for you about your Thanksgiving. =) Post your answers in the comments and I will *wub* you.

First Question: What was your least favorite dish that was served this Thanksgiving? Did you make it or was it someone else's turn?

I hate turnips. Bleh. DH insists on having them every Thanksgiving and then AGAIN at Christmas. Yuck.

Second Question: Did you do any Black Friday shopping? If so, where was the busiest place that you went to? What did you buy and what kind of must-have deals did you see?

I helped my Mom and Dad do some Christmas shopping on Amazon.com. We like that place. My sister and her family live in Las Vegas and since we're in Canada, it's easier to shop online and have it shipped. Plus, some of the prices you just can't beat.

And last, but not least: Did anyone watch the Vikings beat the Bears yesterday?? Woot!

Just checking.

DH was at the game, but I haven't had the chance to talk to him about it yet. He got home at 6AM this morning and well, I just don't talk at that time. But he made me record it on TV, so I'm sure he'll be re-watching it tonight.

Sorry...one more question: Did you put up your Christmas tree this weekend? Link us up to some pictures. Mine isn't going up until this weekend.

Anyway, I can't wait to hear all the juicy details of your Thanksgiving weekend! Hope you have a great week.

Happy Black Friday!!

Are you all going crazy shopping like me? Mind you, I don't have to brave the crowds, because being Canadian, we aren't having special sales here today. Doesn't mean that I won't take advantage of the amazing online deals though, like the 40% at Sweet Shoppe Designs! Have you been yet today? If not, GO! Wait until you see what KCB's got new in store! I'll post the previews in a minute.

Now, we have some business to attend to. I have a recipe challenge winner from last week. The winner is ~Angie! I'll be getting in touch with you to get your prize!

And for today's challenge here's the recipe:

3 papers
3 photos
2 flowers
2 ribbons
1 frame
1 tag

Follow this recipe using Kristin's products and post a link to your layout to qualify for the draw.

Now, check this gorgeousness out! Kristin has pulled out all the stops and released a new collection for your winter and Christmas layouts. Introducing the Holiday Classics Collection:

You save big when you buy all 5 kits together, and especially today, since they are 40% off! But they are available separately if you don't need all five kits. Not that I know anyone who wouldn't.

Have a great long weekend to our American friends and get to the store today before midnight to get KCB's wonderful goodies on sale!

Write With Me - a freebie!

Hey, hey KCB fans! I know, my post is a later late in the day from my usual... but I'm in the middle of some computer changes here... guess what I'm blogging from right now?! My new netbook! I totally fried my laptop so I've been sharing my hubby's computer with him for the internet, and using my old desktop for scrapping and it's been hell. Now I have my new netbook for blogging, chatting, emailing etc... and I'll be getting my hubby's desktop for scrapping (it's way better than my old one, and he's getting a newer one for his gaming).

SO! After all that, (thank you for reading this far!) I have a freebie for you! I had some trouble getting it saved, my old desktop didn't want to save it transparent :-(

But here it is!

Leave a thank you if you download, and let me know if you use it in a layout!
Enjoy!

With American Thanksgiving on Thursday, I thought I'd post a fun little quiz.
These are my results, you can scoll down to the bottom and take it for youself. Hope everyone has an awesome Thanksgiving!

Monday 11/23

Happy Happy Monday!!

I've got two treats today - one I want to tell you about and another to give you!

First treat is one that my family (translation: my husband and I (since it's not kid-friendly)) got today. Our beloved coffee maker died on the morning of the 11th. It was a sad, sad day. But we recovered quickly, after a drive into town for our morning Starbucks coffee. And the kids wondered why they never got breakfast?!
Let me tell you about our coffee maker - it was a Cuisinart, 12-cup, stainless steel baby. Nothing fancy, no grinder, no fancy drink attachments...just a coffee maker. We loved it. It kept our coffee HOT all day long...we're talking at least 12 hours of piping hot coffee here. That's important to us. Secondly, it held 12 cups. Now even that is not enough for the both of us, but it's better than 10 cups or *gasp* 8 cups.
So we ordered the exact same one from Amazon.com. Of course they don't deliver to Canada, so we took a beautiful Sunday drive this afternoon (a little over an hour, just across the border) to pick up our brand new coffee maker. We are so excited! Her she is...

Okay, so if you've tolerated my childish excitement over the coffee maker, you deserve a treat for yourself...I've designed a 12x12 quick page for you, using Kristin's beautiful Sweet Caroline.

Here's what I did with it...

You can download the Quick Page HERE

I hope you enjoy! Thanks for reading and have a great week!

Write With Me - my Simple Pleasures Layout

Hi there! If you've been following my posts this month, you know I've been blogging about journaling your simple pleasures. I made my own layout for this challenge yesterday, so here it is, created using Kristin's Sweet Caroline kit! (also used stitching and swirl from All About Her)

Photobucket

I know, not much journaling... that's why I'm writing these posts to try and push myself to journal more. I went with a numbered journaling, writing a little bit about each and every photo. At first I wrote about half what you see, then I deleted it and started over again pushing myself to write more details.

You might have noticed the different size from the tradition 12x12, that's because I decided to scrap this one at 8x10 so that I can print it and frame it for my craft room. I thought it would be very inspiring.

Next week's post plan? A journaling freebie for all of you to encourage you to journal more on your layouts! Yay! See you all next week!

-Monique.

Monday 11/16

Happy Monday Everyone! Hope you all had an awesome weekend. Where I live, we can probably count, on one hand, the number of beautiful days we have left before it gets really, really...really cold and starts to snow. I love extended fall weather.

Today, as I was browsing through Kristin's gallery, this layout by junebug caught my eye.

I love the layered papers, the stitching and how her clustering just takes the page. Absolutely beautiful! She used Kristin's newest kit Sweet Caroline - isn't it sweet?

Now go on...leave this girl some lovin' and have a great week! =)
