Happy Sunday Recipe Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone! Kiki here once again. Boy is it just me or did Summer fly by this year. Seems like just last week I was walking on a beach in Nova Scotia enjoying the warm sunshine. Our Fall here has started out very strange...all rainy and warm. Go figure. Hope you are having a great start to Fall. It's an exciting time of year, when leaves change colour and we get ready to close up the cottages and stay indoors more. You know what that means? More scrapbooking! Yes, now that we will be stuck indoors with the increasingly cooler weather that means that we'll be ready to get back to our love of scrapbooking with a vengeance.

Did you enjoy Kristin's birthday week celebration? There have been so many amazing layouts created with Kristin's products as a result of the challenges. When you get a chance, check out the gallery at Sweet Shoppe Designs to see what I mean. I definitely added a few layouts to my favourites to scraplift later.

So are you ready to start your week with a great recipe challenge? No I promise I won't make you use 30 buttons or flowers...

Make sure that you use Kristin's products in the layout and once you've completed your layout, post a link to it here so that we can put your name into the draw for a gift certificate for a kit of your choice from Kristin's store. Here's your recipe:

4 papers
4 ribbons
5 buttons
3 journal tags or mats
3 types of greenery

That's it. Go to it folks and I'll come back next week to find out who's in the draw, and select a winner at random. Have an awesome week!

KCB's Celebration Continues - Mash Up!!

It's mashup time...KCB style
"A mashup or blend (also mash up and mash-up) is a song or composition created by blending two or more songs, usually by overlaying the vocal track of one song seamlessly over the music track of another...."

An example of this would be to use All Star with Blossom. 2 totally different kits that would still mesh well together.

Be sure to post your enteries in this thread at SSD and the CT will vote on the entries. The winner gets a $30 gc to KCB's store!
Deadline to enter is Saturday September 25th at midnight EST.

Here are some amazing examples from the CT...

from Sara using All-Star and Days of Summer (with extra alpha from Dear Diary)

from me using These Days and Cast A Spell

Is that not the best prize, EVER?

here's the dealio...

you need to create a layout with either 30 flower OR 30 buttons. it can not be a mixture of both, you have to have 30 flowers OR 30 buttons. you can incorporate anything else that you want in the layout but you have to use all kcb products. collab's are allowed but only if you use kristin's stuff. Templates will not be allowed because it would be something other than kristin's designs.

CT Spotlight on Laura!

Hi everyone. It's Kiki here with today's CT Spotlight. I get to spotlight Laura today who is a genuine sweetheart with some real talent:

How long have you been digi-scrapping? And how did you get into it?
I've been digiscrapping for about 5 years. I started when my oldest daughter was about 3 months old. I was visiting an online parenting board and everyone had these cool siggies. I got curious and wanted to make my own, so i bought PSP 8 and away i went. It slowly evolved into digital scrapbooking and i've been hooked ever since!

What program you use? and what camera? I use Photoshop Elements 6.0 now. I just got my 'baby' earlier this year. I have a Canon EOS Rebel XS. I love my camera LOL

Do you print out your layouts? Have you made any photobooks?
I don't print near as often as I should, BUT, I do print. I have a couple photobooks and I have a slew of minibooks and hybrid albums.

What are your favourite layouts and why?

oh man! that's no fair! I really love all my layouts but i'd have to say this one is one of my favorites.

What are your favourite KCB products?
all of them? lol my favorites are usually the 'generic' ones that i can use over and over again. currently it's her latest scoop with Miss Meg. i LOVE how happy and bright it is.

What's your favourite type of picture to scrap?
I love to scrap the candid, silly shots that just capture my children's (or husband's) moods. The moments that I won't remember 10 years from now.

What inspires you?
Everything. Lately I've been scouring the paper galleries that are online. It amazes me that they can make their layouts look that...and I love all the shapes and paper layers.

Do you have any digital scrapbooking tips and tricks you want to share?
hmmm, I'd say if you're looking to be a layering 'queen,' don't look at a flower or a journaling mat as what it is specified for. Look at it as a shape and utilitze that shape. I can't tell you how many times I've used a journaling mat as something VERY different than a journaling mat!

Scrap Some Lunch Notes Today!

Hey KCB fans! Monique here to show you a little project I've done using the kits I recomended for school scrapping. I made a whole bunch of little lunch box notes for my daughter who started kindergarden this year. She only goes to school 2-3 days per week, but she's there all day so I thought a little note in her lunch would make her day special.

Now she can't read, so I kept them simple... they say "Hi Ally" - which she recognizes - and "I <3 U" which she also knows. So far I've made just a few, but I'll make more as time goes on... I'll do seasonal ones, holiday ones, and super cute ones too... lol.

So here's a picture I took of a few of them:

Kits used are:
Why don't you make some lunch notes for your kids or spouse? They're super easy and quick to whip up and print.

If you do make some lunch notes using KCB products, link us up! I'd love to feature them on the blog!

Fall Favourites

Hey hey! Monique here! I don't know where you live, but where I live it's getting cold, wet and it's looking an aweful lot like Fall. I have mixed feelings about Fall. I love wearing sweaters, drinking hot apple cider, taking photos of my DD in the leaf piles... but I hate how the cold gets into my bones, that it's getting darker earlier and earlier, and being stuck in the house day after day because it's cold and wet outside. How do you feel about the changing seasons?

One good thing about Fall though, is all the beautiful colours and scrapable moments that it brings. And if you're looking for a KCB kit to use for those Fall photos then look no further than...

Falling Leaves:

Or you could try one of my favourite kits, Sweet Caroline:

Trivia Tuesday!

Hi everyone! Kiki here with some trivia for you. This week fall is definitely in the air, with back to school and here the cooler nights have started to turn the leaves colours. So my quiz has to do with that.

I'd say this goes along with my personality. Take the test and see what your favourite leaf says about you! Post your answer in the comments for us to see!

Have a great week everyone!
